Electricians in the state of Kentucky must take some steps every year in order to renew their electrical license. JADE Learning can guide you through the process one step at a time and make sure your electrical license is properly renewed on time so you may continue working without interruption.

Renewing Your Electrical License in Kentucky

Step 1: Check your license renewal date.

Electrical licenses in Kentucky are only valid for one year, meaning each license must be renewed within 1 year’s time. Check your license for the date of issue, or look your license up online using the portal on the Kentucky Department of Housing, Buildings, and Construction (KY DHBC) website.

Step 2: Complete your Kentucky electrical continuing education.

All electricians in the state of Kentucky are required to complete at least 6 hours of continuing education every year in order to renew their Kentucky electrical license. Electricians holding both an  ME/EE and a CE license must complete 12 hours of continuing education each year.

License Type Hours on NEC Hours on Business Hours on Safety

JADE Learning’s continuing education allows you to renew your electrical license when you want, where you want.

Our courses are taught by other licensed electricians and NEC code experts with decades of experience and all of our course materials have been approved by the KY DHBC. Choose from a variety of electrical courses dedicated to topics including:

Step 3: Send in your renewal application.

When you complete your continuing education hours, we will rush report them to the Kentucky Department of Housing, Building, and Construction  for you. After waiting a couple of days to allow the state of Kentucky to process your hours, send in your electrical license renewal application along with your renewal fee.
