How to Renew Your Electrical License in Maryland

Electricians with a Maryland State license must meet the following requirements in order to renew their license:

  • 10 hours of electrical continuing education classes every two years.
  • At least 5 hours must be completed in a classroom.*
  • The majority of MD counties accept MD state approved continuing education courses to renew their licenses. If you have a MD county license, check with your county electrical board to see if they accept CE approved by the state. We know of only one MD county (Cecil County) that has a separate CE approval process.

*While the stay-at-home order is in effect in Maryland, those who are within their 60 day renewal window can take all 10 hours required for license renewal online.

JADE Learning’s continuing education has helped over 150,000 electricians renew their licenses for more than 20 years. And we can help you, too.
