How to Renew Your Alarm License in Texas
Alarm system professionals in the state of Texas must complete the following requirements in order to renew their license:
- Alarm technicians must complete 8 hours of continuing education every year with 7 of those relating to their type of registration held and 1 covering ethics.
- Locksmiths must complete 16 hours every 2 years.
- Installers and salespersons must complete 16 hours during their first year with 2 of those hours covering the NEC. Subsequent years require 8 hours of continuing education with 1 hour dedicated to the NEC.
