Registered electricians and electrical apprentices renew every year, based on the date of issuance.
The majority of electricians are required to complete CE as part of the license renewal process.
Most of the mandated CE needs to cover electrical code updates, but there is room for professional development hours as well.

Once you log in, click on Licenses and Applications and choose Renew My License. Then, follow the onscreen instructions, pay the filing fee, and wait for a confirmation email.

Yes, you can complete your CE and reapply no later than one term after the expiration date (four years for most electricians). Submitting late CE adds an additional $25 processing fee.
After one term, you'll need to complete a reinstatement application and pay a $200 administrative fee.
Journeyman electricians from Iowa and New Hampshire may apply for a WI Journeyman Electrician license without taking the exam.
Only master electricians from Iowa may apply for reciprocity.
