3 Steps to Renew My Delaware Electrical License
Step 1 – When Does My Delaware Electrical License Expire:
Electrical licenses in Delaware expire on June 30th of even numbered years. Your electrical license will expire on June 30th 2018. Inactive and active licenses must be renewed in order to maintain their status. Several weeks before the permit expiration date, the board will send a renewal notice to the email address on the record.
Step 2 – Complete My Electrical Continuing Education:
Delaware electricians are required to complete 10 hours of continuing education, of which 5 hours must be related to the NEC. If you do not complete your continuing education requirements you cannot renew your electrical license.

Step 3 – Renew My Delaware Electrical License:
Lastly, you will need to complete your license renewal
application and pay your electrical license renewal fee
. Be sure to start your electrical continuing education early and submit your renewal application on time to avoid any late fees or fines. It is illegal to practice in Delaware while your electrical license is expired. You can renew an expired license within one year after the June 30th deadline. However, you will be required to pay additional late fees. All late renewals are audited by the Delaware Board of Electrical Examiners.
