Learn More About Electrical Inspector Continuing Education in Wisconsin

Per Wis. Admin. Code. § SPS 305.62, no person may conduct the inspection of electrical wiring in public buildings and places of employment for the purpose of administering and enforcing Wis. Admin. Code ch. SPS 316 unless the person holds a credential issued by the Department as a certified Commercial Electrical Inspector. A person holding a Commercial Electrical Inspector certification can inspect one- and two-family dwellings.

Per Wis. Admin. Code § 305.63, no person may conduct the inspection of one- and two-family dwellings for the purpose of administering and enforcing Wis. Admin. Code § SPS 316 and Wis. Admin. Code § SPS 324 unless the person holds a certification issued by the Department as a certified UDC Electrical Inspector.

How to Renew Your Electrical Inspector License in Wisconsin

Wisconsin Commercial Electrical Inspectors and UDC Electrical Inspectors are required to complete 24 continuing education hours for renewal every four years.

  • The license renewal deadline is on June 30th, every four years. The year is based on your original license date.
