South Dakota water operator certifications include licenses for water treatment, water distribution, wastewater treatment, wastewater collection, stabilization ponds, small water treatment systems and very small water systems.
How to Renew a South Dakota Water Operator Certification
South Dakota Water Operators must complete 10 to 30 hours of continuing education every three years in order to renew their South Dakota water certification.
- One Class I or Class II certificate = 10 hours required
- One Class III or Class IV certificate = 20 hours required
- More than one certificate and all are Class I or Class II = 15 hours required
- More than one certificate and at least one is a Class III or Class IV = 30 hours required
Deadline for license renewal is February 1 every year.
