How to Renew Your Electrical License in Oklahoma

The state of Oklahoma requires all electricians to meet the following guidelines in order to renew their license.

  • Complete 6 hours of continuing education every 3 years.
  • Hours should be completed the year the new NEC is adopted.
  • The license renewal deadline is the last day of your birth month for each applicable year.
  • Beginning January 1, 2026, 12 hours of continuing education are required every 36 months for journeyman and contractors.
    • 6 hours must be code update
    • 6 hours must be credit type "other"
