2. Choose your courses

Choose from our large selection of courses, which are all developed by electrical and water operator experts with decades of experience. Each course is free to start and you may switch courses at any time. See below for information on the number of hours required for each type of license renewal.

You may choose a course package to satisfy all required hours or customize your own course line-up by selecting from more than a dozen courses covering safety, fluid mechanics, wastewater equipment and processes, piping, pumps, and more.

3. Complete your hours

You’ll take your courses entirely online, working at your own pace on your own time. Complete your license renewal from a desktop, laptop, tablet, or smartphone.

That’s it! Once you’re finished, we will issue you a certificate of completion and rush report your completed hours to the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency. There will be additional steps to finalize your license renewal with the board, but the continuing education portion will be complete.

Renewal Requirements

Water Operators in Ohio must complete 8 to 24 hours of continuing education by December 31st every two years, depending on the license type. At least half of those hours must be directly related to Operations and Maintenance (O&M).
