3 Steps to Renew My Oregon Electrical License

Step 1 – When Does My Oregon Electrical License Expire:

The renewal deadline for Limited JY Manufacturing Plant (PJ), Limited Maintenance Electrician (LME), Limited Energy Class A (LEA), and Limited Energy Class B (LEB) electrician license types is October 1, 2020.

This deadline is for Journeyman (J) and Limited Residential Electricians (LR)  is October 1st 2021.

Step 2 – Complete My Electrical Continuing Education:

The Oregon Building Codes Division requires that you complete continuing education in order to renew your Oregon electrical license. Journeyman (J), General Supervising Electricians (S) and Limited Supervising Electricians (PS) are required to complete 24 hours of CE including 4 hours of Oregon Rules and Laws, 8-12 hours of Code Changes, and 8-12 hours of Code Related.  Journeyman licensees can complete more than 8 hours of Code Changes (CC) which will count towards the Code Related (CR) requirement.  Limited Residential Electricians (LR) are required to complete 16 hours of CE (4 ORL, 8 CC, 4 CR).  JADE Learning’s online courses enable you to meet those requirements.

Step 3 – Renew My Oregon Electrical License:

Lastly, you will need to complete your license renewal application and pay your electrical license renewal feeRenew My Oregon electrical license. . Be sure to start your electrical continuing education early and submit your renewal application on time to avoid any late fees or fines. If you don’t renew your license by the expiration date, your license will fall into the “expired-renewable” status.
