How to Renew Your Electrical License in New Mexico

Renewing Your New Mexico Electrical License
Step 1: Find your license expiration date.
Electrical licenses in the state of New Mexico must be renewed every 3 years. The renewal deadline is the last day of the month of the 3-year anniversary of the original date of issue. So if your license was issued on July 10, 2017, your renewal deadline would be July 31, 2020.
If you do not know the date your license was issued, you may search for it online using the state of New Mexico’s license lookup tool.
Step 2: Complete your New Mexico electrical license continuing education.
All electricians in the state of New Mexico must complete 16 hours of continuing education every three years in order to renew their electrical license. Of those hours, 8 must be dedicated to Code Update.
