Continuing Education: 10 Frequently Asked Questions About Our Program

Continuing education is one of our core offerings at JADE Learning, but we know that some people have plenty of questions about how these courses work. We’ve tried to answer many of these questions below, but if you can’t find an answer to your question, reach out to us.
JADE Learning CE FAQs
1. Do I have to visit a classroom?
For most state licenses, no. A handful of states require continuing education to be completed in a classroom, but the majority of licenses permit continuing education to be completed entirely online. You may complete both online and in-person classroom continuing education through JADE Learning.
2. When will I need to work on my course?
You may work on an online course whenever you want. You’ll have access to your course material 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Live webinar and in-person classroom courses will have designated meeting times which will be shown at sign-up and in course reminder emails.
3. How long does it take to complete a course?
It depends on your state, their continuing education requirements, and the type of license being renewed. Generally, a 4-hour online course will take between 3.5 hours and 4.5 hours. An 8-hour course will take between 6.5 hours and 8.5 hours Online courses can be completed in chunks, and you can spend 10 minutes on a course, or you can stay logged on for the entire course duration. 4. Do I need any special software or hardware for online courses?
Our online continuing education requires an internet browser and an internet connection. You can complete your course using a desktop, laptop, tablet, or even a smartphone. You do not need to download any additional software.
5. Is JADE Learning an approved provider of continuing education?
Yes.
Some states regulate continuing education providers, and the courses we offer in those states have all been approved by those respective state boards or licensing agencies. For states that do not regulate continuing education providers, our courses meet requirements the state has concerning continuing education.
Note that in some states, we may not offer all of the requisite hours to complete the state’s continuing education requirements, but those hours that we do provide will be accepted.
6. How much do the courses cost?
The cost of our courses vary depending on length and topic.
All online courses are free to start and you will only pay to receive your certificate of completion.
For live webinar and in-person classroom courses, payment is required before the class begins.

8. Can I choose whatever course I want?
In many cases, yes. Some states and license types offer a wide variety of courses from which to choose, and you may enroll in any of the courses that satisfy your hourly requirements. Course selection will vary from one state and license type to another. Certain licenses may require a set number of hours to be dedicated to a particular course or subject area. All of this information is on our website, so you know what you need before you sign up.
