How to Renew Your Massachusetts Electrical License

The state requires electricians to complete 21 hours of Massachusetts electrical continuing education courses every 3 years in order to renew their license.

  • The Massachusetts 15-hour electrical code review classes must be dedicated to an MCE update.
  • While completing the hours dedicated to the Massachusetts Electrical Code, licensees must have a copy of the current National Electrical Code.
  • 6 hours can be professional development
  • The upcoming license renewal deadline is 7/31/2025.

All classes are free to start, and you only pay to get your certificate of completion and have your MCE hours reported to the Massachusetts Board of State Examiners of Electricians. We rush report your completed MCE hours to the Board each business day.
