Utah contractor licensees are required to have all of their contractor continuing education hours reported to the Utah Department of Commerce Division of Occupational & Professional Licensing (DOPL) by November 30th, 2015. Contractors are required to have 6 hours of Utah contractor’s continuing education each renewal period. At least three hours must be core credit type. So, if you take only three hours of core, then the other three hours can be professional credit type, or you can take all six hours under the core credit type.

JADE Learning is offering the eight hour 2014 NEC Changes Part 1 course at a sale price of $75. This course will fulfill the contractor continuing education requirements with a total savings of $20! The discount for this course is good until November 16th, 2015, so complete and pay for the course by that date to get the sale price.

Follow these steps to renew a Utah contractor’s license:

Step 1. To satisfy the contractor license renewal requirements complete all of the mandatory Utah contractor continuing education hours. JADE Learning allows licensees to work on their courses at any time – day or night. You can log on to your JADE Learning account or register a free account from any device – a computer, laptop, tablet, or smartphone. The courses are designed to go at your own pace so they can be completed over the next few days, the next few weeks, or all at once. After completing a course online, certificates can even be immediately emailed to your inbox.

Step 2. Wait for the contractor continuing education hours to be reported to the Utah DOPL board. JADE Learning will report continuing education hours to the state online through the DOPL reporting website. Individual email notifications are sent to licensees once the hours have been reported to the DOPL board. The continuing education hours should post to Utah’s site within a few days.

Step 3. Submit the Utah contractor license renewal form and fee online. The required fee to renew an active contractor license is $113. Make sure to renew by the November 30th, 2015, deadline to keep an active license. Check the status of a contractor’s license on the Utah DOPL license lookup webpage.

You can log on to your JADE Learning account or register a free account. If you’ve already completed courses for your electrical license renewal, please call us at 1-800-443-5233 to see if you can reciprocate the credit to your Utah contractor license.
