How do I renew my license? Step 1. Complete your professional development hours. Step 2. Renew your license online at: TX Board Website
What if I don't renew my license? "(a) Under the authority and provisions of 1001.201, 1001.202, and Subchapters J, K, and L of the Texas Engineering Practice Act (Act), the board shall take action against a person or entity, upon determination that censure is warranted, for a violation of the Act and/or board rules. An action may be composed of one or more of the following: (1) revocation of a license; (2) suspension of a license; (3) probation of a suspended license; (4) refusal to renew a license; (5) issuance of a formal or informal reprimand; (6) notice to cease and desist; (7) voluntary compliance agreement; or (8) assessment of an administrative penalty under Subchapter K the Act."
Why should I renew my license? "Late Fees are assessed by the board according to Section 1001.353 of the Texas Engineering Practice Act. Licenses that are expired for over 2 years are not eligible for renewal, and the engineer may apply for a new license if desired. The new application will be filed under the current law and rules."
What happens if I'm late to renew my license? "Late renewal fees for Professional Engineers: $75 for late renewals up to 90 days; an additional $75 for a total of $150 for late renewals over 90 days."
