It’s a new year and JADE Learning’s new North Carolina electrical contractor classes are starting! If you have ever been to a JADE Learning class, then you know that you are in for a great experience. Our instructors Don Hursey and Jeff Simpson are experts on the National Electrical Code and have decades of experience. They both have received the honor of earning North Carolina’s Electrical Instructor of the Year. They love teaching the Code and are passionate about making sure every attendee learns and understands the topics.

The North Carolina State Board of Examiners of Electrical Contractors requires that all electrical contractors (L, I, U, SP-SFD) earn a total of 8 hours per year and at least half of the hours have to be at an in-person class. A licensed electrical contractor (L, I, U, SP-SFD) will have to complete at least 4 hours in class per year to renew his North Carolina Electrical Contractor license. Licensees can complete the hours a few different ways to satisfy the Electrical Contractors license renewal requirements:

  1. 4 hours in class and 4 hours online/homestudy – this will give licensees 1 year of renewal for their North Carolina Electrical Contractor license
  2. All 8 hours in class – this will give licensees 1 year of renewal for their North Carolina Electrical Contractor license
  3. 8 hours in class and 8 hours online/homestudy – this will give licensees 2 years of renewal for their North Carolina Electrical Contractor license

For the year 2016 JADE Learning will be teaching Electrical Installation Checklists Part 1 and Electrical Installation Checklists Part 2 classes to North Carolina Electrical Contractors. Each part is worth 4 hours of continuing education credit, so a licensee can earn a total of 8 classroom hours for their North Carolina Electrical Contractor license in one day. At the classroom each attendee will receive two discount coupon codes that are each good for $25 off any North Carolina electrical online or homestudy course. So, a licensee can go to a classroom for 8 hours, then do 8 hours online/homestudy and earn a total of 16 continuing education hours – enough credits to renew a North Carolina Electrical Contractor license for 2 renewals.

Our next class will be on January 14th in Raleigh, North Carolina. The North Carolina electrical continuing education classes will be held in different locations throughout North Carolina. We go as far west as Asheville (May 24th) and as far east as Wilmington (February 16th). Sign up for a North Carolina electrical license renewal class near you!

We are looking forward to offering new North Carolina electrical code classes this year, in 2017, and in the years to come, so please join us when you need to earn continuing education credits for your North Carolina Electrical Contractor license.
